Merry Christmas 2008

We Had an Awesome Christmas today. First of all, last night we had our turkey dinner with all the trimmings (well almost, I forgot cranberry sauce! Nobody cared except Weston!) the best part about our dinner was that we were all together as a family, which is so rare! We read our Christmas story from the bible and made our last minute preparations. Every one wanted to sleep in except Aubrie, who was too excited to see what the jolly old mad would give her! Weston's request was to sleep till 10 am! so about 8 am we all assembled in front of the tree. (it took alot of coaxing from the others for Weston to emerge!)

We took almost 2 hours talking and reading in the Book of Mormon about the signs that Samuel the Lamanite gave and how amazing that the people from another continent were able to know of Jesus Christ. then we watched the movie "Testaments" on YouTube there was alot of "snuffing" going on in the room, thank goodness it wasn't all coming from me! Tonight after family prayers, I asked the kids what was the best part of today. Weston stated that watching the Testaments was his favorite part, and he wants to do it every year. Michael agreed.

After our movie we had our family prayer, then we opened our presents. Here are a few highlights:

Aubrie got some reading books: Junie b Jones and super fudge series, some littlest petshop toys, her favorite movie Calamity Jane with Doris Day, a new dress and a remote control Mercedes that Tim fixed up and painted hot pink for her.

Zachary wanted Truck parts to fix his remote control truck so that is what he got, along with an I tune gift card, and the new World Monopoly (which uses credit card like cards for each player and a cash register to swipe the cards there is no actual money to get scattered or no way to cheat (unless you are the banker!)

Michael got a Wii game, and his car's inspection/emissions done along with the registration paid for! That was his favorite gift he said, because his car registration expires in 7 days. He also got a rubiks cube that he has been trying to figure out all day!

Weston got a 10 mega pixel digital camera and accessories. He also got a 4 gig scan disc to go it it. This will help him on his mission. He got "fuzzy flip flop" slippers, we thought this was fitting because he wears flip flops all year round!

Lottie (me) got a new griddle from Zac (he loves to make pancakes)(let me clarify...It was a griddle, not a girdle!)I also got Smelly lotion, a blender and nylons.

Tim got a new pair of glasses. he is almost legally blind, and has not had glasses in over a year. once he takes out his contacts he cannot see anything. Now he cannot use the excuse I can't see, can you go do it!! Tim has also been busy, for the past 3 weeks he has been trading his paint work for a 4 Wheeler, this was his big surprise to the family. It is great when you can trade your labor for something, it is something we would never be able to afford otherwise. Zac and Aubrie played in the snow with it today, they were cold when they came in.

I think the best part of today was that I got to spend time with my family. Michael and I have what I think is the stomach flu, but in spite of that it was a Great Day!
