A new Gadget for Lottie, and family update

I have been wanting a mp3 player so I could use it while exercising. I have found that I walk faster if there is fast music playing. Tim suprized me and brought home a Ipod Nano. He touched up a car in exchange for it. (isn't trading great!)

The first thing I relized is how much I depend on my kids to teach me how to run electronic gadgets. I am not sure what I will do when they are gone. Thankfully Zac and Mike taught me how to put my cd's on the computer. It took me almost all day to load all my cd's then Import them onto my Ipod. It is amazing that a huge stack of Cd's 2 feet high, fit on one very thin 2"x4" gadget! I was even able to put general conference on it! What will they think of next! Tim made the point that with all the songs I put on it I probably won't hear the same song twice in several days of listening.

One funny thing was when I walked into the kitchen last night, I had the earphones in, and Zachary told me the same thing I tell him...."get those things out of your ears!" I honestly think he felt very Empowered when he said it!

I remember 8 track tape players and record players. I remember looking at a cassette recorder when I was probably 8 or 9 years old in Awe! I thought it was the best thing that was ever invented. And even back then they were huge, and bulky. and now we can use computer chips smaller than a dime, and it can hold a 2 foot high stack of cd's plus some!

Almost 2 weeks ago I slipped on the ice and banged up my head, I think I have a slight concussion but is has not been diagnosed. I have been having horrible headaches. They are getting better, but still have a dull ache in my head. thankfully I have been able to somewhat function through all of this. I Made 4 hats for the humanitarian center while transfering my cd's so atleast I am somewhat productive!

Weston decided his lower teeth had bothered him enough, and went on thursday to have braces put on. He wanted to get them done before his mision. He is paying for them! What a great son he is!!! Needless to say his mouth has been very sore the past few days. He has resorted to eating jello! He is taking 12 or 13 credit hours again this semester and working lots of hours. I am not sure even I could handle all of that on my plate. He is definently going places!

Michael has already been asked 3 times to the sweethearts dance which is almost a month away. it is like a compitition to see who can ask him first. He loves it though I am sure. He went out on a date on Friday night and they went ice skating. he has been limping ever since. He told me he didn't think skating was the sport for him!

Zachary printed off his report card on Friday, and he is getting a b or better in all his classes. i am really proud of him. This is a first for him. I told him when he starts driving he needs to have that "good student" discount by getting a "B" average, so he has really tried hard this term to get good grades. I took him driving for a hour a few nights ago he really does well at night. It was his first night drive. Tim took him on the freeway yesterday. I remember how exciting it was to drive. Now it seems more like a chore.

Aubrie's 10th birthday is on Tuesday. I cannot believe it has been 10 years. She has really blessed our family. I am so glad that I have a daughter. It is sad to see her growing up though. I feel like the fiddler on the roof, watching my children grow up and thinking back like it was just yesterday. Something cute that aubrie did this week was, she wants to go to Chuck A Ramma for her birthday dinner. I told her it was going to be too expensive and so she asked around to several of her friends to see if they knew how much it costed. She was sooo excited to report back that it is only like $65.00! Itold her I thought is was more than that so she called the store and what do you know, It is about $75. She still thinks that it is reasonable. I asked her if she would like to recieve $75 worth of presents or go to dinner, she thinks the presents sound more worth it!

I think is is sad that things cost so much now days. I look forward to the time when milk is under $2.00 per gallon.

Braces -- mashed potatoes -- they are more filling than jello.
