Happy Birthday Weston

Weston is 20!  I told him that I was glad that he made it through his teen aged years alive! and I am glad I didn't strangle him at times!  I cannot believe my precious little baby is now a grown man who has to shave every day!

I remember so well the day Weston was born.  He was such a beautiful baby, and I couldn't believe he was mine!  He has always been such a good son, and has always tried to do everything he was told to do.  He is a rule enforcer.  I knew I could always count on Weston to do as he was told to do, and make sure that others obeyed the rules also.  Weston is the kind of person who loves to read and takes pleasure in the simple things of life.  He is not worldly or selfish.  He is a friend to everyone and everyone wants to be his friend.  He was the oldest, and has always watched out for his younger brothers and sister.  He is very funny, witty, spontaneous, caring, charming, sensitive to others needs, helpful, often goes the second mile to help anyone, and best of all, he is the son that every mother wants to have.  I have watched my son develop into a fine young man.  I have seen him go through the "refiners fire" and be refined into the man that he now is.  At times I want to cry out, and tell him to stop growing, and stay my little boy forever!  At one point I went up to him and told him to crouch down into the fetal position, he was hesitant, but did it.....then I stretched out my shirt over his head, but he would not fit under my shirt.  There was no putting him back!  I have also tried several times to hold him in my arms and rock a bye him...but now It is only his head I can hold on my lap...the rest is too big and heavy!   I cannot make time stand still, nor can I make it go back.  I can only hold on to the memories of my most precious possesions...my children.  Weston is leaving for a LDS Mission, to serve the people of Mexico City, in October for 2 years.  I am going to miss him greatly, but I like Hannah of the Old Testament (the mother of Samuel)  have no other desire than to have my son serve the lord continually and to bring others to the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I Love You Weston, and am so proud of you!  I have seen you work so hard to become the man you are today, and I am so proud of you.

To celebrate Weston's Birthday we went to the Temple, we met Tim for lunch at our favorite local Mexican cafe, then we went missionary shopping.  We purchased everything that he will need for the next 2 years while he is on his mission. He looks so handsome in his suit!  We ordered Pizza and watched a movie, then unfortunately Weston had to go to work later that night, but all in all it was a great day!
