The Gift of a life

I am thanking God for a miracle that my son is alive today.  I had a bad feeling about my 17 year old son driving Tims mortorcycle yesterday, yep! you guessed it...

as he was driving home at midnight, he was aproached by a truck with his brights on, zac said the light blinded him, and he didn't realize how close he was to the shoulder, he went off the road and into the gully going 40 mph he hit a barbed wire fence.  Luckily he was wearing a thick hoodie, cause his jacket is all ripped up.  the sad part is, he put on his helmet, but didn't fasten it up, so on impact his helmet fell off, and his head and neck hit into the barbed wire fence.

His only thought was that he "dumped" his dads mortorcycle so he freed himself from the fence and lifted a 800cc mortorcylce out of the gully and then started home.  He saw blood on his head in the mirror and he said he started to swear like a dirty sailor (haha) (so much for the family home evening lesson on singing hymns instead of swearing haha)he was so afraid to tell us, because he knows how I feel about him riding mortorcycles, and how protective I am, and he also didn't want to tell Tim he layed his bike down and broke it!
so he snuck in the house and hurried to take a shower and clean up, he then came upstairs and woke us up and asked Tim for a blessing of comfort, which Tim gave him, but unfortunaltly Tim noticed the 2 deep gashes in his head, so Tim called me down to look at his head, and all we kept hearing was "I am sorry I wrecked your bike" we kept telling him that he was more important than the bike and that he needed to go to the hospital for stitches, but he just kept chanting, "I am sorry I wrecked your bike"

On the way to the hospital, we stopped by to look at the crash sight, and all I could say was it is a miracle that he didn't loose his head, or eye or get injured more than he did.  the funny thing is at 11:45, I prayed that he would make it home safe, and he did, except for the injuries that could have been prevented by doing up his helmet

The gashes in his head were deep, and he got 5 staples out of the deal!  his neck has some pretty decent abraisions on them, if the barbed wire would have cut his neck, it would have gotten his juggular, so what a blessing the neck wounds were superficial!
He is so lucky to be alive! we figure he has exceeded his 9 lives, and so we are going to lock him up in a padded room!haha

I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who heard a mothers prayer and brought her son home in 1 piece (plus 7 stapels! haha)

oh ps, Tim is squeemish I found out in the hospital last night as he turned green from looking at the numbing shots! it was a good thing I am not so much!
