Pajama party, Hair, Great Aunt and Food Storage

This week flew by so quickly! I cannot believe we are in the second week of March. The saying that March comes in like a Lion, out like a Lamb is so true! It has been so windy, snowy and cold this past week. I do have my bulbs I planted coming up in my flower bed, so I am excited for that!

As you know, Aubrie is the only girl in our family. She gets lonely for a sister, so it is really great that we live close to her cousins, She gets to play with them and their favorite is to have sleep overs. We switch off houses and the girls have so much fun. This week I asked Nicole if she has ever slept in curlers? She hadn't so I rolled their hair. It turned out really cute.
On Sunday of this past week I cut about 3 inches off Aubrie's hair, she cried for over a hour. It was 3/4 down her back. She had alot of damaged ends. I told her her hair will grow faster if we cut them off. It was really hard for her to understand that concept. I think she is over it now! I remember one time I cut Weston's hair too short. He was sooooo mad at me! I think he was about 14 or 15 years old. He went to take a shower and I got the giggles because of a infomercial I saw a few days before on "Hair Repair" It was showing bald guys that if they put this tonic on along with natural hair fibers it would make their hair grow back. I think all that it was was glue and hair clippings from a barber shop! anyway I made Weston a Hair Repair kit. Complete with his hair clippings and glue. I hurry and typed up the instructions, and then put it in a nice bag and left it on his bed. When he came out of the shower, he saw it on his bed and before long, he came up laughing hysterically, we all had a good laugh, and of course it didn't take long before he needed another hair cut, and this time he went to a professional! Oh well I guess when you do it for free you get what you pay for!
On Thursday I became a "GREAT AUNT" now I always thought I was a awesome aunt, but now I am really a great aunt! My niece had a baby, It is the first great grand baby on both sides of her family, I remember all my Great Aunts and Uncles, they were OLD! I guess I am headed in that direction!
This week we got our tax refund back, I cannot think of a better way to spend it than on food storage. We have a local store that was running a case lot sale this past week, so it was great to be able to take my stimulus money and buy food for my family. We know that our food storage will be worth more than gold some day, so in a way I am depositing into my "savings." It truly is a gratifying feeling to come home and fill your pantry with life giving food. The commandment has been given for years to have a food storage, and so by following this I know our family will be blessed. the blessing may just be that we will survive what ever is to come.
