Music Festival and Spring has Sprung

Today I am so glad to see some spring flowers in my yard! It is so exciting to know that the snow season is almost done! I enjoy the flowers that come up in spring probably more than at any other time, because it renews my spirit, it helps me to reflect on re-birth, renewed spirit and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Just when we thought everything was killed by the frost and snow, little buds appear, then leaves, then flowers. When I see spring flowers I know that life never stays still for long, the tulips, daffodils and other flowers are here for a short while, then they are gone.

It reminds me that we need to appreciate everything we have in the moment. When we are going through trials and hard times in our lives it is like we are in the "Winter." We long for the long summer days, we long to feel warmth. When we have overcome our trials or obstacles in our life, we experience the "Spring" the new birth or re-birth, the sun starts to shine on us again, and even though some days might be cloudy or cold, we know that "summer" is right around the corner and we will feel warmth again!

We had several things happen this week, first Aubrie has been practicing her piano very hard to participate in "Festival" It is where she competes against herself to earn a good, excellent or superior mark. She had 2 piano pieces that she has been working on since January. They were very difficult at first, but then with practicing and a great piano teacher she was able to master them. Also with Aubrie, her cousins competed in festival, Bryce and Nicole. Aubrie did very well, I was really proud of her.

On Saturday we attended the Draper Temple Dedication. What a beautiful temple! It was decorated so beautifully and it was the first Temple that Aubrie has been in. The LDS church always opens up the Temple for public viewing before it is dedicated, then after the dedication, you must have a Temple Recommend to attend the Temple. Weston took these pictures of him ans his buddy Aaron when he went in February.

Zachary and Weston were honored at a Eagle Banquet on Friday for both earning their Eagle Scout in 2008. Weston couldn't attend, but Zachary went. The was given a eagle's head pin to wear on his uniform. On the way home he was driving , and we saw 2 deer in the road. I am glad Zac wasn't going very fast or we would have hit them! It is interesting to me that deer freeze up when a car is approaching them, instead of getting out of dangers path. May bey it's the lights......Go towards the light.... I wonder if when they get to heaven they ask why are you here? and the deer say I saw the light!

We have alot of things planned for this week, so stay tuned for what is going in in our lives!
