The 3rd Week of May 2009

Well, We are in the last part of May already! Wow I am totally in denial! What happens to our time? where does it all go? So I was pleased with the scout auction that we had last week. If you remember from my previous post and pictures, I made 2 quilts to donate at our local Scout auction. the Camouflage and Denim went for $85 and the little princess went for $45. I also made a watch bracelet (called a Swap Watch because the band is a bracelet that you can swap out to match your wardrobe) That went for $20.
This weekend is Memorial day Weekend, the start of Summer. I am hoping for a LONG Summer. My summers go by too fast. I haven't even got my garden planted this spring yet. Hopefully this week.
I started something the first of May, I started to use coupons again. I used to do coupons all the time, but got too burnt out on them. I subscribe to 5 of our local sunday papers, and take the coupons out and donate the papers to my neighbors (who wouldn't want a free Sunday paper right?!) (well minus the coupons, but most people throw them away anyway)
I went to the store Monday and bought $203.00 worth of groceries, and only paid $65.00, then I went again on Thursday and again bought $205.00 worth of groceries and paid $40, so all in all I actually spent 1/4 of what I would have. However most of what I bought is going down into my food storage...But yeah for food storage that only cost $105! The secret is finding a coupon person who will do all the guess work out of finding the deals for you. There are many different companies out there who will tell you when to buy and what coupons to use. There is a link on my blog for sheshopsmart, even if you do not want to use coupons, it will tell you what is a good buy and on sale 4**** or 5***** means you'd better stock up! cause it is a great deal! When you clink on the sheshoppsmart link, click on the box to your left (it has a passport number on it) then put in your store and there you go!
Have a great week, Make it a MEMORABLE one! (you know memorial day! hee hee)
