Hope of America and scout quilts

This past week I have been busy sewing quilts for our local scout auction. this takes the place of the Scouting for Friends door to door donations. We donate anything we think would be beneficial in the auction and then the ward members bid on them. Last year I made a Levi quilt that sold for I think $120. I made a Disney Princess quilt this year along with a Camo/Denim quilt. I am hoping to get the same results. So far I have spent 12 hours on the princess quilt and over 36 hours on the denim/camo one. Cutting, pinning and sewing. I machine quilt them for durability and because I think it looks better than tying them (who wants to lay on knots of yarn?) I cannot believe we are in the month of may! Where does time go?
Aubrie participated in Hope of America. It is a musical production for elementary school kids with dancing and singing about America (of course) She is in the top right hand side in the white section just under the top yellow and red row. It was a great performance. She has been going to after school practices for well over 2 months. Good job Aubrie. It took us almost a hour to just get out of the parking lot after the show! crazy!! I ordered a outside umbrella clothesline the other day, I am excited to get it! I like to hang my clothes outside in the summer. It is amazing that clothes lines are almost extinct. It was hard to find one that was sturdy and durable. I remember growing up almost everyone had a clothesline in their back yards, but I guess that is a thing of the past. Have a great week......Lottie
