What If You Had A Chance To Make A Difference?
What if you had the chance to make a difference? In someones life, In your own life, or life itself! What would you do? I have been thinking about this alot. Back in September There was 100 days left to 2010 I decided to make a difference in the next 100 days. I feel like I did make a difference. I lost 15 pounds, Tried to be more patient and understanding of others. I gave meaningful service and tried to be more Christlike. I want to continue doing this every day of the year. It has made such a impact in my life. I found even something like a simple smile, or a sincere how are you doing and then listening to the response made a difference to someone elce and to me. I Found that I served with a more willing heart and Loved more freely. So I pose the question to you....What if you had a chance to make a difference? What do you have to loose? Give it a try, You will see how it gives you more than what you give! Have you ever seen the movie "Pay It Forward?" Click on the title above and it will play a 2 min preview Ok, I am not telling you to go Rent the DVD and watch it, (I watched it with TV guardian and it bleeped out alot so I know there is alot of swearing in it!) but here is the show in a nutshell. A Social Studies Teacher gives a class of 7th graders the year long assignment to think of an Idea to make the world a better place and then put it into action. This one boy came up with a idea to "Pay It Forward" To help 3 people, and they in return help 3 other people and the cycle continues. If everyone in the world would try to do this, we would be more Christlike, giving without expecting something in return, Showing love and kindness, helping others in ways they cannot help themselves. My goal this year is to continue to work on my goal that I set back in September of last year, to make a difference Each Day! big or small. I am not perfect, but I would like to be more Christlike and I know that Christ set the perfect example in the parable he gave in the New Testament Matthew 25:35-40...35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
