Today was a once in a century day! it will not be 10-10-10 again for a 100 years, and to top it off, as I am typing this it is 10:10pm, even more exciting!
Today we celebrated Thanksgiving. Weston requested a nice Thanksgiving dinner before he left on his mission. So today we prepared a nice turkey dinner. It was very nice. I haven't eaten sugar for so long, and have shrunk my stomach, so even eating a little of this and a little of that put me into agony, and bloating.....but it was all worth it! Everything tasted so good!
We have been doing alot of " lasts" lately. Every activity begins with "this will be the "last" time we...."
Last week we carved pumpkins, because it was the "last time for 2 years" and every time Weston wants something...he says "but it will be my last time....!" Yesterday we took family photos. As I pondered the significance of the moment, I thought to myself this will be the "last" time all the kids are together for the next 5-6 years. Weston will go out on his mission, then Michael, then Weston will come back, just in time for Zachary to go out, then Michael will come home, and then Zac. And then who knows perhaps some of the kids will be off to school, married or moved away to tin buck to! I thought about how much my children have grown, and how fast the time has gone by.
I also reflected on how really in each of our lives we should live life to its fullest. Live like it really is our "last" of everything. We never know when our life will end, or the ones we love. I thought of how I need to make sure that I am doing my best every day to show my family my love, and to make meaningful memories, just like today is a special day that only comes around every century, we should make every day one that will be remembered for the next century to come!
