Small Blessings come in packages of 3

I want to share a tender mercy of the Lord with you. While packing Westons mission clothes yesterday, we made note of all the things left to get. amongst them was socks. I had forgotten that we only bought 1/2 of his socks to see if he liked the brand before we bought the rest. We are very low on funds with Tim getting laid off earlier this month, and starting his own business, and I was overwhelmed with the thought of spending another $40 on socks. We decided to go to walmart and price them. The dress socks were not with the other socks, and I thought perhaps they were all sold out. We went around the corner and noticed that there were just a few pkgs of socks left. They were marked down on clearance to $1.00 per pkg of 3! so for $2.00 we got the rest of his socks! Which then allowed us to buy the needed medications and other misc items to complete his packing. Boy am I glad I was inspired to pack yesterday, otherwise we might have totally missed out on the $1.00 opportunity! This was a tender mercy of the Lord blessing our life.  We have also been so blessed with the donations of money that have been given to Weston.  I am so thankful to have my son serving the Lord.  It brings me so much joy and happiness to see my children serving the Lord and to see the good works that they do for others.

While packing with Weston yesterday, I told him that we needed to label everything of his!  For some reason at this point, he cannot understand why I have to write WM in all of his underclothing, clothing, shampoo and etc... (by the way no matter how you look at it WM is WM turned upside down or right side up!)  I even sewed yellow along the top of his socks, so that he may easily recognize which socks are his.  I told him that in case he runs out of socks, he can easily identify them from his companions suitcase!  (and they probably will get mixed up, just because that is how it is when you are sharing a room, heck, I always wore my sisters clothes and shoes even though I knew exactly who they belonged to!)

I did however get my marker privileges taken away when I started writing weird things on his clothes and belongings.  I thought it was really funny that I labeled his razors "Weston's Stubble Removers"  he apparently did not think it was funny, nor did he think it was funny that I wrote Weston Marsh loves his mom, on the edge of his sheets.  And then there was the "Elder Amazing" that I wrote on something else (actually that might get swiped, because every elder might think that belongs to them!)  The best thing is the things that my friend monogrammed on his hand towels....."Cleanliness is next to Godliness"  and "Elder Marsh...Write your mother!"
Poor Weston.... never a dull moment is his life!  He will be reminded of how witty and marvelous I am, even though he is thousands of miles away from me!  But you know what the best part about everything is?  When he kneels down by the side of his bed to say his prayers, perhaps he is discouraged, or feeling like he just wants his mommy! He will see what I wrote on his sheets, and it will bring a smile to his face, knowing that his mommy really does love him.
